Cryo treatment of metals

Postby cassisiv » Wed Nov 01, 1995 4:41 am

There is an article on the subject in the September 1995 issue of Power
Transmission Design magazine pages 59-61. The cryo temps change the grain
structure, leave compressive residual stresses on the surface, etc, which
change the characteristics of the metal. Seems to be picking up more and
more support and credibility.

Hi Racefab list;

Could someone forward the original question about metal treatment
using cryogenic temprature to me.

Triumf does a lot of work with materials in the cryogenic temprature
range. I think I can find some one here with the answer.
