I just wrap the area to be cut with masking tape, to hold the wires together, and then slice through the hose with an abrasive cutoff wheel (1/16" thick) that I have mounted on a bench grinder. Then I clean the inside of the hose with carburetor cleaner. Works great.

We wrap the hose with electrical tape and use a large cable cutter. If you use a hack saw, you will want a very fine toothed (is that a word) blade.

I use a hose cutter from Summit, I do enough of it that it makes it a breeze. I think it was about $35
